It's "Movement Monday" with MJ and Mr. Williams for today's Daily Special work.
GETTING BACK TO WORK
After a week of school "break," we are going to get back into the rhythm of your daily academic expectations. As a reminder here they are:
- Freckle Math (Monday Adaptive Practice Assignment and Monday Fact Practice Assignment)
- 15-20 minutes of Lexia CORE-5 Literacy
- 30-45 minutes of Independent Reading
- Daily Special
CREATE A ROUTINE THAT WORKS FOR YOU
All of you have different routines and variables in your day to day lives. Some of you are home with siblings, some of you are not. Some of you are home with one caregiver, others with two. Some of you share one device in the house to work on, while others may have more. Whatever your situation is, make sure you create a routine that works for you and your family, and try and stick with it. I am especially referring to your academic work expectations routine. If you can make it a daily habit to do your assignments at certain time intervals in your day, it may feel comforting. Think about how comforting it was to know our daily routine at school. When kids (and adults) know what to expect and WHEN to expect it, it is a tad easier. Accomplishing a task (assignment) as part of your daily academic routine will give you a sense of accomplishment with each task completed. (And if you want to add another "task/assignment" to your daily routine, start by making your bed everyday.) 😉
CLASS 220 VIDEO CONFERENCE MEETINGS
Whole Class Video Conference (w/ Rocket videobombing it) |
This week, we will continue our weekly video conferences in small groups and our whole class conference. Your caregivers will receive the email notification/invitation to a small group meeting for either Tuesday or Wednesday, as well as the whole group meeting on Friday.
TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE
As part of this week's small group video conferences, we will play a game called "Two Truths and a Lie." You are encouraged to think of two true things about your school break and one lie about your school break. Have them written down to share with your small group, and we will try and guess which are the truths and which is the lie.
Be Kind,
Mr. M
