Monday's DAILY VIDEO MESSAGE LINK
LOGIN TO LEXIA
As students move ahead with work from home, as part of the continuation of learning plan, as guided by the VT Agency of Education, they will be encouraged to login to their Lexia platform each day for 15-20 minutes (no more). This will give them daily learning experiences based in literacy skills that is specific to their needs AND will allow me to monitor progress. Logging in to Lexia each day will also help me track daily attendance to school work. I know many students have been using Lexia at home, already, so this is nothing new. If you have NOT been using Lexia from home, now is the time to start.
FRECKLE! ...What A Funny Name!
Another online learning platform that Union Elementary School students will be using during this distance education, continuation of learning period, is Freckle. Funny name, right? Anyhow, Freckle is a computer based program that allows teachers to differentiate work for students across Math, ELA, Social Studies and Science. We'll mainly be using it to assign Math work, but will also engage students in other content areas as well. UES Teachers are receiving training this week, and so, stay tuned for more information about student work with Freckle very soon!
NEED A DEVICE?
As you can tell, students will need a device to access the online learning platforms we will use as part of our continuation of learning plan. We will be conscientious of the amount of time we are recommending for screen based learning. Nevertheless, a device will be needed. If you need a Chromebook for your child please fill out THIS SURVEY right away.
